Reindeer Cookies

I made these cute cookies to go along with the story,
"Olive the other Reindeer".

You need just 3 ingredients: sugar cookies, M&M's, and chocolate covered pretzels (you can use regular pretzels)

If You Take a Mouse to the Movies...

I got this cute packet from First Grade Fever by Christine on Teachers Pay Teachers. My students loved reading the book by Laura Numeroff and doing all the fun activities!

Winter Book Exchange

Are you looking to do a book exchange as part of your holiday activities? Once you have collected all of the books, choose names out of a hat to see which student gets to choose the book first! Students love getting new books!

Get Your Voice Warmed Up!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE to sing in my class! We get out the microphone and bust out singing songs to help us learn. We sometimes even get up out of our seats to dance...especially to the doubles rap! These simple songs help the students remember what a sentence and statement is. I'll be "composing" lots more! :)

Questions? Questions? Ask Lots of Questions!

Place the question cards in a bag. You may do this during centers or the whole class. Students will choose question cards out of the bag. Using the word, the students will ask each other questions. Once they are finished, they will write 4 questions for the teacher to answer. The students LOVED writing questions to me and having me respond! :)

Doubles Song

If you're teaching doubles, this is a great song to help students remember their facts. Thanks to Jennifer Matteodo who shared this with me! My students love it and ask to sing it everyday!

Fall Bulletin

We read the book The Little Scarecrow Boy by Margaret Wise Brown. After reading the story, I had the students write what happened in the beginning, middle, and end. Once they were finished we made scarecrows. I have my schoolhouse on the wall all year and will change with the seasons or activities that we do.
